“I Don’t Want To, You Can’t Make Me” with Jennifer Salimbene, Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute

March 20 @ 6:30 pm - March 22 @ 4:00 pm

S$680 – S$750

This workshop is proudly presented by Psychodrama Singapore @ Promises in collaboration with Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute.

What is it about?
Explore what resistance is, how it gets in the way, how it serves us and how we can help our clients move beyond it.

This two-and-a-half day action-workshop covers psychodrama and sociodrama interventions that go with the resistance, honour our client’s defences and are attuned to sociometry, creating the safety that helps change barriers into open doors.

The methods taught here will encourage individuals and groups to warm up to spontaneity, healing and change. This workshop will integrate concepts from Motivational Interviewing and the Stages of Change.

Who is it for?
This workshop is especially useful for those working with adolescents, the chemically dependent and clients who act out.

What can you take away?
Participants will learn and practice through action:
  • Sociometric exercises that increase group cohesion and safety
  • The use of the Psychodramatic ‘Empty Chair’
  • Doubling in group and individual work
  • The power of Role Reversal
  • Sociodrama
  • The Angle of Choice
  • Future Projections
  • & many more experiential structures that assist in helping reluctant clients make choices towards change

ABOUT THE TRAINER

Jennifer Salimbene, LCSW-R, CASAC, CDAC, TEP, Senior Faculty at Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute, has over 25 years in the field of addictions and co-occuring disorders, working in inpatient, outpatient and private practice settings. She specialises in the areas of addiction treatment, co-dependency, trauma, PTSD, tweens adolescents, and families.
